Journals

The University of Cincinnati has journals treating subjects from across the humanities, life sciences, engineering, and technology studies. Several are edited by undergraduate and graduate students. We are looking to add journals in new subject areas that reflect emerging strengths of the university. Please contact us if you wish to either create a new open access journal or transition an existing journal from subscription-based to open access. Cincinnati Library Publishing Services (CLIPS) can assist with everything from crafting an initial proposal and mission statement to developing editorial policies and production workflows.

Given the breadth of interests covered by our journals, each editing team determines its peer review process and the qualifications of its peer reviewers. We encourage scholarly journals to have a blind peer review process clearly identified on their website. Non-peer reviewed content within peer reviewed journals is clearly identified. We can help get open access journals apply for indexing by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
